Le fanzine Frères, au-delà d’offrir un recueil de portraits de jeunes hommes anglais, en propose une vision intime et sensible, à travers l’œil de son photographe Michael Mayren.
Ces photographies témoignent non seulement du lien particulier entre l’artiste et ses sujets mais aussi et surtout, entre les hommes photographiés. La violence d’un entrainement de boxe laisse place à la délicatesse et au calme d’un binôme fraternel. La beauté simple de ces portraits ne cherche pas à éclipser la douleur du quotidien mais à en recueillir la douceur et l’intimité.

The fanzine Frères, beyond offering a collection of portraits of young English men, offers an intimate and sensitive vision, through the eye of his photographer Michael Mayren.
These photographs testify not only to the particular link between the artist and his subjects but also and above all, between the photographed men. The violence of a boxing training leaves room for the delicacy and calm of a fraternal pair. The simple beauty of these portraits does not seek to overshadow the pain of everyday life but to collect the softness and intimacy.
